The Kwangyang port which was developed to
improve the nation's logistics structure and more balanced
local development of the Korean peninsula, is a logistics
hub in Southeast Asia along with the Busan port. It has
a total terminal space of 51.9 acres, 350 meters of berth,
channel depth of 15 meters and is equipped with two fifth
generation container gantry cranes with an outreach of
working eighteen rows of containers. With modern equipment
and facilities including fully automated unmanned gate
operation system, it is a state-of-the-art modern container
dedicated terminal with annual container handling capacity
of 300,000 TEU. It plays a pivotal role in alleviating
the port congestion and cargo delay stemming from concentration
of export and import cargoes to the Busan port. |
